Additive Manufacturing, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Heat Transfer Enhancement, Numerical and analytical methods in Fluid Dynamics, Two-phase flow and heat transfer.
With over a decade of experience in the field of computational fluid dynamics, my professional background includes research and development at the Bhabha Atomic Research Center in Mumbai for four and a half years and TU-Darmstadt in Germany for five and a half years. During my tenure at BARC, I contributed to various projects related to the design and analysis of process heat transfer equipment and was a member of the CEA-DAE committee on the development and validation of thermal hydraulic codes. My PhD dissertation focused on developing thermal models to study heat transfer at different length scales in granular powder beds irradiated by a laser source. This research helped in identifying key phenomena during the laser melting/sintering process and predicting the operating parameter window for a given powder material. Currently, my research interests include utilizing flow-induced vibrations for heat transfer enhancement and modelling two-phase flow with phase change (boiling and condensation) to simulate and analyse high density uniform heat spreaders.
