High Pressure Physics , Low Temperature Electrical and Magnetotransport Properties, Thermoelectric materials for Energy conversion and storage, Topological Insulators and Topological Superconductors, Energy Systems, Energy Storage, Spintronic materials, Electrochemical sensors for environmental applications.
Electronic and magnetic phase transitions in superconductors, 2D Quantum materials, 3D topological insulators, 2DEG materials, and intermetallic compounds at high-pressures (0-200 kbar), low temperatures (300mK-300K) and high magnetic fields (0-17 T). Development and improvisations of low- temperature high-pressure facilities for magnetotransport studies using the different types of pressure cells (Diamond Anvil, WC anvil, CuBe piston-cylinder) for hydrostatic and uniaxial pressure. High- performance, non-flammable, and high-capacity all-solid-state Li-ion batteries, Hydrogen storage materials, electrochemical sensors, EGFET sensors . 2014-2015 | Research | HIGH PRESSURE PHYSICS LAB (HPPL) | Research on High Pressure Physics, Low Temperature Electrical and Magnetotransport Properties of Quantum Materials, Thermoelectric materials for Energy conversion and storage, Topological Insulators and Topological Superconductors, Energy Systems, Energy Storage, Spintronic materials, Electro-chemical sensors for environmental applications, Materials for Hydrogen Generation and Storage. | Low Temperature electrical resistivity, magnetoresistance and Hall effect measurements on up to 10 samples simultaneously using He-4 based CCR type Cryostat (4K- 300K), Electromagnet up to (4k gauss) Keithley SMU KE2450, KE2700 with 40 channel multiplexers controlled with custom made LabVIEW programs. All these measurements can also be performed under Hydrostatic pressure (Hybrid Piston Cylinder cell 3 GPa), Uniaxial pressure (1 GPa), and quasi-hydrostatic pressure (WC anvil cell 10 GPa). Electrochemical measurements, metal ion sensing using Potentiostat and battery cycler. Synthesis of single crystalline/poly-crystalline materials using custom made high vacuum ampule making and sealing set up, Horizontal and Vertical Muffle furnaces up to 1100C. Nano material synthesis using wet chemical and hydrothermal methods using Teflon lined autoclaves and Hot air Oven (300C). 3D printing, micro/nano-wire making using 3D-printer, laser engraver with Stereo-zoom microscope. |
