Mass Transfer, Microfluidics for chemical processes - separation and purification, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics - Physico-Chemical property measurements and simulations, Carbon Capture & Sequestration, Wastewater Treatment.
My research area includes mass transfer studies, thermodynamics, microfluidics and wastewater treatment. Mass transfer research focuses on extraction, distillation and absorption process. In thermodynamics, measurement of phase equilibrium data such as LLE, VLE, excess volume of liquids and liquid mixtures etc are focused. In the field of microfluidics, process intensification of reaction, extraction, distillation, membrane distillation and CO2, SO2 etc., absorption with novel solvents is explored. Wastewater treatment research includes, biochemical treatment techniques, advanced oxidation process etc., for industrial wastewaters.

2016-2017 | Research | Thermodynamic Research Lab | The thermodynamic research lab was established in the Department of Chemical Engineering in 2016. Thermodynamic properties are essential for the design, operation and optimization of chemical processes. It aimed to facilitate the measurement of liquid physical properties like density, viscosity, refractive index, contact angle etc., for research purposes in various fields of chemical engineering. The lab has been helpful for several M.Tech., and PhD students of Chemical engineering students. | The lab contains facilities to measure physical properties of pure liquid and liquid mixtures like density, viscosity, refractive index, contact angle, surface tension and interfacial tension. The following equipment are available in the lab 1. Kruss GMbH Drop shape analyzer, Germany 2. Kruss GMbH Liquid density meter, Germany 3. Atago Make Digital Refractive Index Meter, Japan 4. Thermo Fisher make, Head Space Gas Chromatography, USA. |
