The State of Rajasthan being endowed with rich geological resources offer a vast variety of stones used in building construction and ornamentation. The availability of traditional hand skills enabled him to experiment in Architectural and Artistic applications in several ways. Consistent advancement in machine- based applications pushed the process further. Being an architect, possibilities of structural and non- structural applications of stone were implemented in ways not usually attempted. Artistic applications by way of using non-conventional sections and sizes, shaping the stone sections, Textures by mechanical means, Hand-chiselling of surface, In-lay and Over-lay in precious and semi-precious stones, Carving, etc. brought out new possibilities. Creating relief and textures in thin sections of Sand Stone yielded encouraging results and led to further development in large-size artworks. Large format artistic applications in stone tend to become heavy and challenging to create seamless artworks without losing proportions. This involves the integration of hand-drawn sketches to be converted into digital linework and transferring it onto the stone surface. This is a complex and long-drawn process. Installation of such stone-based artistic and architectural applications requires immense coordination, high-level precision, skills, and care to achieve the desired end result.
